CRITICAL STUDIES PROGRAM
THE COLLEGE
Founded in 1907, California College of the Arts (CCA) is an independent art college with undergraduate programs in architecture, design, fine arts, visual studies, and writing. The college also has graduate programs in architecture, curatorial practice, design, fine arts, visual criticism, and writing. The college is a dynamic and interdisciplinary community with a strong commitment to diversity and to being on the forefront of contemporary though and culture. CCA consists of campuses in Oakland and San Francisco, and currently enrolls 1,600 full-time students.
PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Critical Studies program, which houses all mathematics, is one facet of a substantial curriculum in the humanities and sciences, based on the belief that the visual arts are guided as much by the mind as by the hand. Artists, designers, and architects work in the context of a larger culture that is shaped by literature, history, philosophy, politics, economics, and technology, and CCA stresses the importance of a broad liberal arts education for understanding this context. The college offers a broad, integrated curriculum that seeks to produce informed citizens and artists who will engage both critically and imaginatively with the world around them. In addition to creative practice, students acquire oral and written communication skills and the tools of critical thinking and argumentation. The Critical Studies program includes courses in cultural history, social science, philosophy, methods of knowledge, mathematics and the sciences.
POSITION SUMMARY
CCA is seeking candidates for a semester teaching opportunity as a Lecturer/Adjunct to teach pre-Calculus and introductory college-level math courses for artists and architects for the Fall 2006 semester. Possibility for continued employment beyond Spring 2006 semester.

1966 Mustang baby blue with new white vinyl top, pony interior, 6 cyl., automatic, new headliner, new sunvisors, new wood grain on dash, new exhaust, motor and tranmission overhauled about 10,000 miles ago. Many, many new parts such as new battery, new weatherstripping for trunk, new trunk liner or mat with matching tire cover, small tote bag for misc. with mustang emblem, new back speaker panel by back windsheild. Good project car, I have been working on it in my spare time, which is not much, for 2 years. It is not perfect but is a good strait car with good paint and drivetrain.
It needs the brakes completely gone through, that is my next project if I don't sell it. It has brakes but I want to completely redo them. These cars are so hadr to get a hold of that one in any shape will bring 4 or 5 thousand. This is a good 6 out of a possible 10. I plan to but the luggage rack on the trunk lid if I keep it. |
